The TRiSTAR development program will fully harness the advantages of Tsukuba Science City as a top-level research environment in Japan to roll out and validate the world-leading “transborder advanced researchers” Development Program under the support of universities, national laboratories, and companies. Targeted researchers will be selected from universities, national laboratories, and companies and matching will be attempted by the researchers, sending institution, and receiving institution. Organizational support for transborder research will be provided and the potential for interdisciplinary and cross-industry collaboration will be teased out using the Cutting-Edge in Campus (CEiC), which provides a forum for sharing the latest technologies and a culture of human resource development with companies. To promote this program, three working groups will be established on “Development of Transborder Researchers,” “Next-generation PI Training,” and “Improvement of Research Environment.” We will strengthen the research skills of young researchers through engagement with other disciplines, industry-academia collaboration, involvement in world-leading researcher networks, diversity and inclusion, and protection and resourcing of intellectual property.
Building networks with world-leading researchers and research teams by conducting collaborative research with leading national and international research institutions.
Promoting a new research development and creation of a new research field with a view to social/industrial implementation by conducting interdisciplinary collaborative research, leading to co-creation with different fields and industries.
Realizing co-creation with different fields/industries through the use of a forum for sharing the latest technologies and a culture of human resource development with companies (CEiC).
Courses to acquire “management skills” necessary for researchers who lead next generation, such as laboratory management, research PR, intellectual property strategy, etc.
Away from everyday life, through exchanges that transcend the boundaries of affiliations and research fields, the program promotes the expansion of human networks from diverse fields, the fusion of different fields, and the acquisition of inspiration for one’s own research topic through self-improvement
