Research Outline

In today's rapidly aging society, maintaining good physical and mental health for a long period is an important issue for quality of life and healthy life expectancy. However, the percentage of people who take care of their physical and mental health is low, and there is a growing need for more advanced techniques for physical and mental health care in daily life.
In our laboratory, we are researching technologies to support mental and physical health through sensory presentations that intervene in people's minds and bodies. In particular, we are focusing on support in the "subconscious" state, and are working to establish psychosomatic care technology that can provide high support effects without disturbing people's daily lives by using multiple senses to provide subtle stimuli at a level that is imperceptible to the user.

What is my goal as a transborder researcher?

People perceive the world through their five senses, and the results are expressed in their emotions and actions. My goal is to understand people from various perspectives, including psychological, behavioral, and social, through the five senses, and to contribute to improving the wellbeing of all humankind by widely sharing the results of this understanding with society in ways that transcend the boundaries of disciplines and organizations.
